Design understanding.
Art remains one of the best ways for humans to understand our common spirit. If museums can communicate in powerful ways that make art accessible and exciting, people will line up to visit because the experience will be worth it. An exhibition of Winslow Homer is doing just this by engaging visitors in the beauty, technique, and relevance of Homer’s works. Our approach to moving beyond “telling” about the exhibition was to design two books in one- a traditional exhibition catalogue and an exposition of watercolor technique.
